SYD’S APPLE TORTE 1 cup sugar ½ tsp. nutmeg ¼ cup butter ½ chopped walnuts (optional) Mix all together and pour into a greased 8 x 8 pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 50-60 minutes. (I double this recipe and bake in 9×13 pan) FROSTING: ¼ cup butter Mix all frosting ingredients in a saucepan, bring to a boil, stirring for 5 minutes. The frosting makes enough for a 9×13 pan in my opinion as I don’t like so much frosting.
