For years, I have enjoyed the website, I’m An Organizing Junkie! This is the site that also hosts Menu Plan Monday each week. I decided to join February’s Org Junkie’s 28 Day Organizing Challenge. I have two areas of my house that are the thorns in my side. One being our garage! When we added the 5th bedroom we moved everything that was stored in our basement into the garage. IT IS FULL! I am waiting for it to warm up a bit before I start on the garage. I think I will actually have a garage sale this summer.
For right now, my youngest son’s room drives me NUTS! He has the smallest room and the most stuff! I know you have seen these type of photos of his room before. It seems I clean it up and it looks like this again in a matter of weeks. Obviously, he simply has WAY too much stuff in here. I need to seriously decrease the stuff in his room.
I am going to particpate in the whole room category of the challenge and once again try to conquer the little man’s room. I don’t even want to go in there and paint on the mural as I hate the mess. Hopefully, I will also complete the mural by the end of the month. This is my focus on February. It is good to have a focus, but sometimes that makes the rest of my house just fall apart. I tend to get a bit too focued!!
Tommy’s Room BEFORE:
The shelving unit that is suppose to hold all his toys!
The closet which is filled top to bottom with toys.
Yes, this is what my son calls cleaning his room!
His Dresser – this is looking really good!
The drawers are usually all open.
This dresser is too small for his needs
and falling apart. I plan on going to
Ikea and buying a new one this month!
Thank you, tax return!
The bed and the unfinished mural that
really needs some attention.
As you can see, I have my work cut out for me!! Wish me luck in keeping it all together during this month! Do you have a secret mess to conquer??? Hop on over to Laura’s site and participate in this wonderful challenge.
I always struggle with organizing small children’s rooms. I am looking for suggestions and tips, so please share!
Happy Organizing!!
This is my issue all of the toys and stuffed animals. You have a big task ahead. Happy organizing!

Good luck with the little guy’s room! I too have a garage full of stuff that is waiting for warmer weather. Maybe we should swap garage secrets later on when the time comes. š
Cute room! Kid’s rooms are always difficult — they want to live in them after you’ve worked so hard to get them organized! Good luck with your challenge!
Ikea also has some great organizing furniture. We got one for Erik’s toys that has different sized tubs that slide out. Great for sorting and organizing. I’ll find a link for you…

There are other ‘shapes’ and colors that are less expensive too.
A great space – with all those shelves and a new dresser coming in it looks like you’ll be well on your way. Good luck! Can’t wait to see the final product.
Thanks for commenting on my blog today – we can do this right?
