OUR FAMILY VACATION……………………

FRIDAY

Well of course as we were getting ready to leave for South Dakota,  I am packing my medicine and realize I am out of predisone.  ARGH!!  Can’t live without that med.   And of course it is a med that never has a refill.  So I have to call the Dr to get a refill called in.  My allergist is great and they got back to me right away.  So we leave to fill gas in our rented van and pick up my meds.  Wouldn’t you know it, they haven’t filled my med yet so we had to wait.   So we got on the road a bit later than I had planned, but we really weren’t on any kind of deadline.

Tommy stayed awake the entire 6 hour drive to SD asking “are we there yet” every five minutes.    Or crying as he wanted out of his carseat.  But we made it!!  Erik did ok on the ride, but still needed tylenol every 4 hours as his teeth hurt.

We made it to SD around 6 or so.  We had supper with my parents.  Before we left Minnesota Josh had emailed his biological father, Karl to tell him he was coming to SD so his grandparents would know if they wanted to see him.   Karl and I grew up in the same small town in South Dakota.  After supper I asked Josh to call his grandparents on his bio dad’s side.  He didn’t want to so I got to…They said that Karl was actually coming for the weekend and they would love to see Josh.   Josh hasn’t see Karl or his grandparents on that side for at least 5 years.  Josh was pretty nervous about seeing them. especially karl.   Josh has two additional siblings from Karl’s second marriage that Josh had never even met.

After arrangments were made for Josh to visit with his other grandparents and Karl, we headed to the Street Dance.  We walked the two blocks from my parents house to downtown and listend to some music.  The streeet dance had a beard contest and auctioned some numbered crocks.  Tommy had alot of fun but was tired.  We stayed there until about 10:00 and then headed home to my parents house.

End of Day One of Vacation…….
